Makes for great pictures with that LED light. Looked as if your T1L's were glowing in the dark.

Whats the sound like compared to your JH16s?

thanks, glad that you like it :D

well i'vent got the time to do a A/B testing but if i compare it to what im more familiar with; 535mod(which is moded with LS8's backbone, share's the same technology and design)

i can tell that its already got sharper/more detail highs than that...in which i used to fine mine moded535 being treble and mids focus, which is just about the opposite to 16pro.....

but general speaking off the top of my head, i think its got much brighter and better in reproducing the female vocal than 16's being abit lay back and sounding rough...

yet, my experience is somewhat different to other's in this forum, and also seems to be different to average_joe's...

but i've got that tiny mic thingy removed from my t1L. Such saying that i've got no clue if that affects its crossover :S

i also ran down to a local store which had a frequence response scanner, and did a quick test on it.... and the results are somewhat close to my initial experience

as it's showing a peak at 5~6KHz ...while the rest of it's mids and bass is just somewhat flat :S

edit---

talking of which it's mids can get abit out of "order" when its with busy tracks like others had said....

and the bass does have somewhat a different presentation to 16pro's....

and you can wait for Joe's detail reviewbiggrin.gif, which im sure will be better than mine wink.gif

Cool looking pictures!  Yes, my T1 Live! is not bright, and especially not in comparison with the JH16.  Your 535 creation sounds very different than my LS8 as well.  I do think vocals on the T1 are superb, and you can check out my incomplete summary on the T1 Live in the first post of this thread.

Here is my (un-proofed) T1 Live! vs. JH16 comparison from my upcoming review:

The JH16 has a cleaner, clearer and more dynamic sound than the T1 Live! which has a thicker, richer, and more enveloping sound.  The soundstage of the JH16 is wider but the T1 has better depth to the presentation to go along with a more mid-forward presentation.  The flatness of the JH16 presentation can lead to instrument placement within tracks with depth of field to sound misplaced, especially in direct comparison with the T1, which has good soundstage depth and imaging.  The JH16 has superior detail levels, but the differences aren't huge, while the T1 is more transparent, mainly due to the presentation proportions.  With a quicker note decay, the JH16 sounds faster.

Bass output can be close at times, but when there is deep bass rumble or a large quantity of bass in a track the JH16 pulls ahead, however the T1 is warmer and thicker.  This carries over to the midrange, which is liquid with both but presented differently.  Given the bass and treble boost of the JH16 and the more forward midrange (and bass) of the T1, they sound quite different.  It is easier to hear the minute details with the JH16, however the T1 offers a richer and more relaxed presentation.  The treble of the two diverges as the JH16 is brighter with better extension, however the T1 has a more realistic note decay with cymbals and other instruments in contrast to the faster JH16, which brings the details to the forefront.

If you are looking for CIEMs to compliment each other, these two can do it.  The JH16 has a thinner note that leads to better clarity and speed, and with more bass and treble emphasis, the overall presentation is exciting.  On the other hand, the T1 Live! presents in a more front and center way with warmth and richness as well as better soundstage depth and imaging, which is better for acoustic and well mastered tracks.  Both perform fairly close technically, and if the JH16 had a better soundstage presentation, these two may be tied!

While I don't find my acrylic shells to be uncomfortable unless there is a fit issue, silicone is extremely comfortable!

Did you ask for them without the mic?  And I received a Pelican case, so it is interesting that you received that case; I will have to drop ACS a line and ask about this.

Sounds as though whatever you're using to drive them might not have good synergy with the T-1s

What source / amp are you using?

thanks, from what i've been told by the store who help me get my modification done, is like that thing is done with ls8's technology and shall be close to it, although since its based from a 535 which will surely be a big brother to 535 instead of being like a l38

yea, i have seen your summary already, and thats why i told Staal that mine experience with mine t1l's aren't close to others within this forum...

i'vent had much time on mine t1l just had it on for about 2hrs after i picked it up...im more with sony mdr7550 at the moment(which has full size custom silicone tips)

IMG_8250.JPG

on the mic thingy

and i did email them about it, and they've been super helpful and the customer service lady just got to the Lab manager with my question within an hr, and got my request down within 1 afternoon....

one of the best customer service i've had in a long while

talking of the box i got, i do prefer a protective case for 1 or other reason ...and what i have been told its they will nolonger send out the old protective case with their CIEMs..

well, what surprised me was the results of frequence response scanning which does show that peak.....sadly i shall have taken foto of that before i rush out of the store

umm i'm with mine A84X + shadow...and an OCC silver LOD, some told me before sony's are just tooo bad for music listening. but i guess its enough for me,as i didnt have the time to try out different players out there

but talking of which even when i m listening to it via my laptop..its still rather on the bright side...when comparing to 16pro

Thanks for the comparison between the JH16 and the T1- Live. As you may recall I have a JH13 and have been waiting for you to have more time with the T1 before asking more... I want something fun, musical, yet with great instrument separation to complement what I got. Silicones only. Do you think the T1 Live or the 5-way fits the bill better? :)

Thanks loads Joe.

Both the T1 Live! and 5-way are fun and musical so it is between the 5-way and T1 Live! if you want silicone to complement the JH13.  There is Sensaphonics, but I have only heard demos so I really don't know how they compare.

I should have my full T1 review up in the coming week.

Hi Joe, I found that EM3Pro is lacking the upper bass sound, I miss the the bass line that come out from bass guitar specailly on rock music,no wonder I don't hear any bass hump at all, beside not enough upper bass sound also EM3pro puts the guitar bass sounds on second or third layer from it's imaging, are you fell the same way? is any other way to fix with?or should I  upgrade to EM4?

It sounds like you may have a bad seal as I have no lack of bass except the very bottom registers.  Knowing what I know about the EM3 Pro and EM4, if I only had an EM3 Pro I would upgrade, however the EM6 is probably closer in sound signature to the EM3 Pro.

is the overall presentation much better or just slightly? is the difference distinguishable even from memories or must be compared side by side?

I was informed by HFi that the Rooth LS-5X and LS8+ are now available.  The LS8+ improves the midrange, bringing it up to the level of the bass and treble, among other improvements.  I am not 100% sure the sound signature of the hybrid LS-5X, but it is "totally different in the direction they are going."

The higher level you can achieve with this program, the more difference you will hear.  For me, the difference is relatively large, mainly due to the different presentation.

It's been several days since I got my SE 5 way. Love them more and more everyday. It has easily became my favourite IEM (although I only have 3 lol).

The resolution is just crazy high. I rockboxed my Clip+ zip and ipod classic 120gb. They both sounds really good.  5 way can even resolve them with lots of detail.

But I am having a hard time distinguish them with my HM801. :( ....I know this sound crazy. If HM801 is not warmer, I might end up picking the wrong one if I listen to all my 3 devices blindly with certain songs.(I listen to only flac files).

Do you have the same problem sometimes? Can someone give me some tips what to listen when you trying to compare songs?  In what aspect (bass?mids? treble? soundstage?) does HM801 sounds significantly better compared to cheap DAPs that can be easily noticed? I don't want to feel that I spent lots of money on something that I don't even know how to appreciate.

First, the GAME card makes a big difference for me as it is much more spacious and 3D with better dynamics, imaging, and clarity.

Now a stock 801, vs. a Rockboxed Clip+ still results in a good deal of difference in the size and depth of the presentation as well as the bass and control.  Everything else flows from that for me, which is better definition of everything within the space, better clarity, transparency, etc.  What type of music are you listening to, as I have many FLAC tracks that are just poorly mastered and don't sound very good regardless of the bitrate.  Mostly newer music, but also 80 and 90s pop can have issues.

One thing the 5-way does better than anything else I have by a good amount is resolve detail I didn't even know was there with lower end sources.
