Yep.  More details to come...

And it appears that Spiral Ear likes to use a lot of interconnect wire in the shells!

AJ, you need more ears man.

I have no idea what they are connecting... isn't it only dual and triple driver models?

Exactly. Since when is Spiral Ear 4-way? Or is it even 5-way (a bit blurred)?

My first guess was Spiral - because only Grzegorz can put so many wires inside a silicone shell :D It's just like his signature :)

He created 4way - 4 separate speakers, 4way crossover, 4 way soundbore like a year before JH even emerged on a market.

This monster looks 5 way - or at least 4 way with dual woofer.

Anyways - nice! Looking forward to the impressions, and ...price

Had none issues about the filter, it is well none and fits right in.

It`s to expect from one of the world leading hear aids company.

(Borrowed from starkey)

As you can see the filter infront, use the filter for concert or hearing protection and still maintains the natural audio fidelity without distortion.

You cant use as same time with ERM monitor.

SA series sounds better then ERM, but ERM isnt that bad either.

@ azndmp, thank you for all of your PM assistance!  I have better clarification from Starkey:

The Starkey SA series is currently only available in Norway, but both the UK and US Starkey labs may bring out the SA-43, which is the most popular Starkey model.

Tunz tunes their own custom monitors, which are available from Starkey US and are tuned different than the Starkey monitors.  Starkey US also resells them under different partners and trade names.

The ERM silicone range is actually plug-in monitors as can be seen here and the tips are a product line from this company while the plug in monitors are made by Starkey Norway.  They are similar to musicians earmolds from ACS, Westone, and Etymotic.

So, in summary, the SA-43 is the most popular Starkey product and will be available elsewhere soon and I tried to update that info in the manufacturer section.

The 5 bore holes are for the 5-way design.  New thread here.

A highlight from Grzegorz's description:

"Super extended resolution, frequency response, instrument separation and multi-dimensional soundstage will make you realize all the subtleties you have missed and never heard before in your well known recordings. And we mean all recordings…"

And from an email from Grzegorz when asked about his "delayed woofer" (now called delayed "ignition" woofer):

"A “delayed” woofer is an idea I’ve been thinking and experimenting upon for a long period of time now and which I have implemented in the upcoming models. I cannot disclose the details for that as the concept is not used anywhere else, as far as I know. It doesn’t, of course, mean any delay in time or phase of the transducers, etc., but rather the ability to render the signal in a controlled environment with different “strength/amplification” and levels as perceived by one’s brain. At least to my ears it helps with texturing, SPL, punch, attack/decay ratio of bass notes, etc.The best bass I've ever heard anywhere so far."

They should arrive this week as they arrived in New York the 12th (USPS Express Shipping)

What browser are you using?

Chrome, and I think I figured out what is doing it...the clear button!  I will have to try again without the clear button (PITA), and I asked a mod to clean up the thread and delete my extra posts.

That would do it. Huddler doesn't play well with others. I get the same thing in Firefox if I try add a quote as part of an edit.

i am looking for a custom that will fit my needs and wont be too expencive.

What i am looking for:

- Great Soundstage, more like sitting in the 10 row of the hall, not too near to the musicans - so should be compareable to Senneheiser IE8 or better
- Good amount of deep subbass
- less mid and upper bass - So bass signature should be somewhat like triple.fi 10 and not like the Westone midbass hump
- Nice transparent mids
- a little recessed highs. I am a Shure guy so i like the rolled of highs of my se530s

i have the following in mind:

Kozee: x3

Spiral Ears 3-way reference

JH13pro

1964 Quads

Problem is, that i would like to test them before buying. but since i am in germany, the only one i could listen to are the jh`s.

again, i am not looking for a bloated sennheiser bass, but sub bass should rumble some kind of subwooferish. and highs shoud not be pronaunced as for example they are with the tf10.

Any sugestions which of them i should target?

My original reshelled TF10 sounds like it would be close to perfect for you!  From what I know there are no presentations from customs like the IE8, but the EP-10 Plus is the closest.

The X3 has a very present treble and a somewhat forward midrange to go with the spacious presentation.  I haven't heard any of the others, but here is what I do know about them:

SE 3-way ref - if it has a similar sound signature to the 5-way, it will give a slightly laid back presentation with great tonality

Some say that the JH13 does not have enough bass weight for them as it is very neutral and has treble sparkle

Original: The Q has rolled off treble, a mid-forward midrange and some deep bass rolloff

Edit: I meant the T has rolled off treble, a mid-forward midrange and some deep bass rolloff according to more than one person I know that owns them as well as looking at the graphs (and shoving one in my ears).

Also, trying a universal, especially a JH universal isn't necessarily going to give you the true sound.

It actually sounds like you may like the UE custom IEM sound signature.

Of the lower tier JH Audio models, I think the JH 7 will have the bass you're looking for. If you can demo them and they fit your tastes + budget, there's no good reason not to get them.
