ATH-M50 + Sansa Clip+ - SILENT?

Bought the Ath-m50 and a Sansa clip a few days ago, M50s burned in nicely for 50+ hours, whenever I listen to .flacs or .mp3s on the Sansa they're hardly hearable!

Any ideas?

It could be that your sansa is having difficulty driving the M50s to a good listening level for you.  The solution in this case is an external amplifier like Fiio's E5, which would allow you to increase substantially the potentail listening volume.

Thanks for the reply, that was what I was intending to do, great to see it's all good.

You're welcome!  Welcome to Head-Fi by the way, where wallets are never the same!

Did you select American or European region in the setup. This causes your Clip+ to reduce maximum output power.

Select "Rest of the world" to enable high volume setting (also found under system settings)..

I wouldn't buy an e5 just yet. Even though the Clip+ is tiny, at max volume it will still push some pretty stubborn headphones to audible (albeit not good-sounding) levels. You should adjust the volume under System Settings, like bar1 said.

NO NO DON'T MIND THE SETTINGS JUST BUY A REALLY EXPENSIVE AMP RIGHT AWAY!

recently brought a clip+ on amazon.  and have to return it after the first use. The sound it produces is extremely small, I have to connect it with my E7.

Someone said on this forum that for such small size music player, the sound it come out is loud. But, it truns out NOT!!

well, planning to get a Sony walkman A series.

dude, read. :) you have to adjust your region-settings to get rid of the volume-cap. (restore to factory defaults/region north america/settings volume HIGH) it has been explained a gazillion times. the clip(+) is loud!

The sansa clip can get a bit louder after you rockboxed it

Use a program like replaygain on your flacs or mp3gain for your mp3s to standardize them to a louder normal volume. If that doesn't work you're listening way too loud. My clip can drive my m50s to utterly earsplitting levels.

Yup, like everyone said, check your region setting.

I just plug my M50 to my clip+ and I can't imagine anyone listening to max volume all the time, It is definitely way to loud (official firmware) and I probably already do listen to music too loud already... atleast according to all my friends...

Rockboxed, it gets even louder at max volume... but still, I can't imagine M50 + clip+ (official firmware) at max volume is not loud enough for anybody... even those with already impaired hearing.
