So who else watched the shuttle launch?

Living in Florida I get to see the shuttle launches from my front yard every time. This one's kinda memorable, though, since it's the last shuttle launch for space shuttle discovery. Anyway, did anyone else watched it?

Unfortunately, no. I've always wanted to visit Florida to see a launch, but I don't think that's going to happen. I am old enough to remember seeing the first shuttle launch, though, and I always love to see them take off.

I've seen several launches from Edwards AFB - you can usually see them anywhere in LA. I'll have to get out there sooner or later for a launch.

Ah, I missed it unfortunately.  It is a sad day to see the end of the shuttle's tour of service.  I tell ya, I miss those days years ago when I was yonger, I would love reading as many books on space, space travel, the solar system, etc. as possbile.  I had a huge interest(still do) in space and air travel.  I hope someday, as a nation we recapture that fasination, wonder and curiosity to explore the cosmos once again.

I saw one when I was seven or so. Amazing spectacle. Truly beautiful. I can't imagine another time as a child that I had been filled with so much wonder and excitement. One of the reasons I want to go into aerospace engineering. (or just some sort of similar engineering)

We were in Florida for three days and were very fortunate to see it go off without any delays.

EDIT: I recently decided to officially change my major to Engineering from Architecture.

I spent three days at Port Canaveral once in early 2002 but the launch kept getting delayed until after we were gone, I remember being very dissapointed. Then I drove cross country and spent a couple of days at Roswell right after they opened the new consolidated museum, it was a real spaced-out trip. But the shuttle launches paled in comparison to the Apollo program launches I saw as a kid (on TV) anyways. Rockets vs. shuttles, no contest!
