Starting into the speaker world, help with my setup.

So I am making my way into the world of speakers. I am getting the Wharfedale Diamond 9.2 speakers and am looking for the rest of my gear. I already have some newer Sony turntable that is pretty good and I don't plan on upgrading that anytime soon. The first thing I am going to buy is a nice amp/receiver. I already have one to use but will be buying a dedicated amp for them. I was looking into some vintage Pioneer or Maranatz amps. I am open to all suggestions for a dedicated amp <$300. I really would love to find an old Mcintosh amp but they are just too far out of my price range, one day though :D. I also want to get a new phono preamp and was looking at the three listed below. Which would be better for my setup? Also looking to get a DAC at some point. I have pretty much decided I want the Cambridge Audio DACMagic. Thanks for the help!

I was in the same exact position last year, building a dedicated stereo vinyl system. I would highly recommended a vintage receiver from Marantz, Kenwood, Sansui, or Pioneer. I went with a Marantz 2265b from ebay, Marantz 22xx line are all excellent. For the vintage receiver try to buy one locally if you can, shipping those monsters are pretty expensive. Also consider the Emotiva XDA-1 for a DAC if you need a remote volume control.

I went with the following:

Vintage Marantz 2265b (about $350 shipped near mint)
Sony PS-X7 turntable with new Orthofon 2M Red
Swan M1.5 speakers
Seagate Dockstar with Linux installed running Squeezeslave > Yaqin CD3 Tube buffer > DIY AMB Gamma2 (for FLAC's)

Yeah my main concern is finding a good amp for pretty cheap. I am looking for what can give me the best bang for my buck. I was also looking into DIY. I have a fair amount of experience that I feel I could do something sufficient for those speakers. I just don't know what that would be?
