I have both and I don't know which ones sound better.

iPod Touch has Wolfson WM8758BG

iPod Video has Wolfson Chip

Touch = 32GB

Video = 30GB

Either one will be run through  -> L3 -> FiiO E7 -> SE115s

Which one sounds better to you? The SE115 is the limiting factor in those setups, I think, not the players.

Using HD238s

EQ-none

BB on E7 - 0

Bass - Touch's seem to be tighter but more recessed than the 5Gs which are more pronounced but seem to have less control.

Mids - 5G sounds slightly more coloured

Highs - Touch's highs seem slightly darker and less pronounced than the 5Gs which have a crisper ring to them

Soundstage - Both are as wide, but when mids come in, the touch seems to have them overpower the lows and highs, whereas the 5Gs are less overpowering

Vocals - definitely more transparent on the 5G, seems as if the vocalist is in front of you whilst the touch's are veiled and have a 'walled' feeling to them
