Anyone here have the Arcam A38 integrated stereo amplifier?

Im wondering how it sounds as a headphone amp, but also - what happen if you switch it to pre-amp mode with the tiny button on the back, will headphone out still work or is it dissabled too because you cut of the lead from the power amp totally?
