Upgrades for my work setup

Just wanted start off by saying hello, ive been lurking around for a while asking random questions here and there but i guess i still have a LOT of learning to do.

Let me start of by letting you what i am currently running/have/doing.

I currently have a Macbook Pro (i5) at home and a Dell desktop at work (i7, Realtek High Definition Audio is listed as my sound card?.. its a work computer i dunno) and as far as headphones/amps, i have the M50's and the XB500 and i have the fiio e5. The M50's are probably the best headphones i have ever had but i feel like they lack a little bit on the bass part. ( i am going through the PC's front AUX out)  and the XB500 are a little bit overwhelming on the bass.

So i started to look at what headphones i should get to maybe get more clarity and bass. So i was looking at the DT770 pro (80ohm) and was told that they benefit from an amp. So i after reading many reviews of the Dt770 pros i think i will be getting those (until someone suggests somehting id like better)

I was looking into amps and read a good amount of people saying that the e9 is a good amp, and i dont have a DAC (which i dont know if i need or not, i dont currently have one) how would the amp hook up to the pc in the first place (how would it convert the audio?)

Im in the process of upgrading all my music to either a higher bitrate or flac, my question here is how do i go about importing the flac's into itunes on the pc and the mac side??

My main goal here is to be able to listen to my music (a lot of electronic ie deadmau5, pretty lights, girl talk.. and hiphop) with clarity and nice bass. I dont want to spend over 400 on everything. If i dont really need it to start i would rather wait until i learn much more about what i am looking for but i know i need better then what i have got. I dont know if that means just getting an amp or a dac/amp or 2 separate dac and amp. and which ones lol..

Someone had suggested the Audinst HUD-mx1.. as a combo

Oh and a side note, i prob cant be installing things into my computer, so they would need to go via usb or aux out. Hope i have provided enough info where its possible to be able to suggest things!

Thanks for your help!!!!

To connect an amp straight to the laptop you will need a 3.5mm jack to 3.5mm jack cable, if your considering the E9 you might as well get the E7 aswell it docks in the top of the e9 and it gives you a usb/dac amp combo, this will provide alot better sound quality than connecting a amp to the laptops headphone out, the e9/e7 uses the standard windows drivers no you don't need to install anything.

if i get everything e7/e9 and the dt770's im kind of over budget.. im kind of looking for a system to stay within my budget but over time i could add things to.. What is the order of importance to impact quality of listening...

What about my flac audio files... how do i put them in itunes..

You could get just the E7 to start with, it will power the 80ohm dt770  fine but not the 250ohm dt770.

The E7 alone will be fine then , if you want to upgrade in the future then you can get the E9.
