Hooked up my trusty D2 with Sony headphones and was surprised how good the combo sounds - lively, detailed and musical. Joe's Garage with Zappa that I hadn't listened to for years came to life, as did Dionne Warwick '60s recordings and Sibelius symphonies. The inbuilt amp was more than sufficient even for those of you who demand hairrising levels (I don't, it damages your hearing). This kind of unexpected listening pleasure is what the headphone hobby is all about.
