D2 & Sony sounds great PICS

Hooked up my trusty D2 with Sony headphones and was surprised how good the combo sounds - lively, detailed and musical. Joe's Garage with Zappa that I hadn't listened to for years came to life, as did Dionne Warwick '60s recordings and Sibelius symphonies. The inbuilt amp was more than sufficient even for those of you who demand hairrising levels (I don't, it damages your hearing). This kind of unexpected listening pleasure is what the headphone hobby is all about.

Oh, by the way, it wasn't the combination on the pic above that made me smile, it was the one below:

Sony Discman D2 and MDR-V6 from the mid eighties, still going strong!

LOL....Very nice MDR30....That's the head-fi spirit....beerchug.gif

I recently took out some of my PCDPs that I have not listened to in years and have been enjoying them.

Recently, this place has turned into many folks listening to measurements and tests instead of music.  Then arguing about the tests and measurements...Kinda takes the enjoyment out of things....

Great setup MDR...
