Can you replace an Ipod Classic's (2007 80gb) hard drive with an Ipod mini's (2nd gen)? Or possibly even the Ipod Nano 1g's flash one?

Did search for this a bit, can't find much, I just don't wanna spend all my effort to open an Ipod Classic and find out that its not compatible.

Many Thanks, even a link would be fine.

Wait...... Why the heck would you want to do this?

Also I haven't heard of anyone successfully replacing a classic's hdd, though that doesn't mean it is impossible.

Those with flash memory use an IC whereas the classic uses a hard drive.  Not quite the same thing, though it is possible for you to replace the 80GB drive with a 120GB or even 160GB one, if I am not mistaken.

The mini's a hard drive too, do you reckon that I should take the effort?

The hard drive on the classic died, so I just wanna change it.

I guess it might work if that hard drive is pin compatible with the classic's motherboard.

This is badass.
