Amp'ed Sound Card and Headphones to Match

Simple and short: Putting together a computer, looking at high end audio.

Is the HT Omega Claro Halo and a set of A900's overkill for gaming, music, and movies?

What options does a user have that are lower budget than this without sacrificing that "epic" feeling even after I get used to the head fi sound.

the headset doesn't need to rumble, but bass shouldn't be non-existent.

Nah, that shouldn't be overkill.

I'd recommend the Fostex T50rp over AT's if you do not mind modding the Fostex.

The Audio-Technica's soundstage cannot compare to T50 once you have dampened the drivers and opened the vents covered by felt in the cups, but you sacrifice a bit of isolation.

What are my best options in a budget around $300? This would have to include any sound card, amp, and cans unless onboard is used.
