Are the new K701s more bassier?

Hi.. I read couple of comments in this forum that the new K701s are more bass heavy. One guys even says that they are bassier than his HD600. Can any recent owners of a brand new K701 please comment on what they feel about their K701? If AKG has increased the bass, then i wonder how it affects the rest of the spectrum.. Cheers

Remmember, comfort is more of a subjective thing as many will find one style comfortable while others might not.

Just go with the K-702.

I've read that too and I get the feeling AKG are correcting their best selling phones fault of little to no bass with this tweaked version. The question is are they as good overall as the originals or did they cut corners...

That's funny.  So they are correcting a fault with all of the earlier versions ... for all the rave reviews they have gotten here.  rolleyes.gif

'Course, I had a pair last fall, and I didn't think they had enough bass either.  Too much "treble emphasis" for me.  Maybe I'll have to check out a newer pair.

'Rave reviews' mean very little, just look at how many cables 'blow people away' while others claim there is no difference what-so-ever. In regards to the new K701 there must be a reason AKG decided to make this bass-emphases change... if it's the same speaker then it's nothing more than a mod that if done by the community would be loved by some and disliked by others.

Not correcting a fault necessarily. Maybe just responding to consumer demand for more BASS. Though I agree about the treble/upper mid emphasis. Maybe they'll 'fix' that next. Would be a nice improvement, IMO

If AKG replace the drivers of the K701 with more bassy ones... mean the K-702 will have them too.
