how do i set the volume between these three things for my setup? currently i have the volume on my mac and audioengine turned all the way up and use the nuforce to control the level. should i do something different? thanks

The general advice is to adjust volume at the furthest end of the audio chain (away from source), so in your case I think volume control should be done at the Audioengine speakers.

Yep, crank the uDAC 2 to max (back off a few degrees, there tends to be clipping at the very maximum), as well as your Mac volume. Control the volume using the Audioengines, though on my Windows setup, adjusting my OS volume has no effect on the uDAC's output.

thanks for the help. also is there any way to give my udac the ability to adjust volume over my mac? like give exclusive access to the udac? i know there are other programs like decibel but i really like itunes and would like to do it through that
