For Sale:
Woo Audio WA22 (UK) WITHDRAWN

Will Ship To: UK

*** WITHDRAWN FROM SALE****

*** Please be aware that price is £ GBP, not USD ***

For sale is my beautiful WA22. I really love this amp, and it is a fabulous amp for the HD800. I traded an SPL Phonitor and some cash for this beauty with head-fier vermellifort (the original owner), and it is in the same very good condition it was in when he sold it to me. Mine is a smoke and pet free home, and I treat my gear with an almost obsessive amount of care. I have decided to invest more into my home studio setup, so I offer this beauty for sale.

The one thing I would mention, is that the amp would produce a very low-level (almost imperceptible) hum when used with my now-deceased sophia princess 274b.  Certainly not anything to worry about though – the amp sounds absolutely stunning, and with the 274b the hum was only just about audible when no music was playing.

The only cosmetic 'flaw' that I can find to mention, is that the serial number has got smudged on the rearside of the unit (likely when it was shipped in it's foam box). Please see the attached picture.

The amp will come with the stock phillips 6080 power tubes, a pair of Shuguang Treasure driver tubes and two rectifiers that I have picked up: a Sylvania 5U4G and a Sylvania 5931. Personally. I love the 5U4G sound! I will ship the amp in it's original foam packaging (with the tubes in the compartment within the foam).

This has been my second Woo Audio piece (I also previously owned an excellent WA6), and it is a typically stunning piece of equipment, sonically and aesthetically, and I am sure someone will be very happy with it.

I am looking for a quick sale, and have priced accordingly: £1100 for the amp and all the tubes. Ideally I am looking for a UK sale, as it is a big, heavy amp to ship. I will cover postage within the UK, but I will have have to ask EU buyers to cover postage as the amp weighs a lot! Please be aware that shipping this amp overseas will likely be very expensive - as a result, I would like to reiterate that I am primarily looking for a UK sale. I will accept payment by either paypal gift, bank transfer or cash on collection - I am happy to welcome any local buyers to come round for a listen, if they like. Feel free to send me a PM if you are interested.

Thanks,

Steve

Hi - the hum you got with the Sophia - you dont get with the other tubes right?

If you could clarify.

also - I'd be interested but the price is a little high when viewed against the new cost.

If you dont get a sale and would consider dropping it a little - id be very interested (and I'm in the UK and could even possibly collect)

Hi there,

Unfortunately, the cost of shipping to the states seems particularly high - £97.69. I will only ship tracked, for security. Please bear in mind that you might well be liable to pay import tax on stuff coming in from over the pond.

I am getting my quotes from here: http://www.pfwwsg.parcelforce.com/portal/pw/PriceFinder;?catId=24400720&reset=true&gear=pricingcalc

(weight - 9kg. Dimensions  - 40 CM X 37 CM X 27 CM)

Thanks,

Steve

Hi Lee,

There is no hum at all with my 5U4G - The large plate structure of the 274b seemed to catch a tiny bit of hum from somewhere (likely from the transformer). To clarify though, the hum was so tiny as to be almost imperceptible. Certainly not audible with an audio playing. As I mention in the ad, I am happy for people to come round to listen to amp before making any decisions.

I would certainly be able to budge on the price for a buyer who could collect - as it would save me the expense and hassle of shipping it.

Feel free to send me a PM with your best offer, if you are able.

Thanks,

Steve
