AH-A100, opinions please vs m50 given my current rig

I know somebody that is selling their mint AH-A100s for around 250 bucks (with the original box, etc...) and I am considering pulling the trigger on these.  My god, technical details aside, they are just gorgeous!   Anyway, I haven't tried them out yet, but should have the opportunity to A/B them next week with my m50s.  So should I expect a big difference between the two?

 

I am currently using an ipod 160GB classic, with LOD, and PA2V2 amp; almost everything I have is 320Kbps.  I mostly listen to rock, alternative, jazz, and blues.  I'm am very happy with the m50s, but have read quite a bit about the denons so I'm anxious to compare them.  Do you think it will be worth the upgrade?

The bass of the A100 will seem boomy and a bit bombastic in comparison to the M50. The mids of the A100 will appear warmer sounding. The treble will be similar but the A100 may have a bit more sparkle. The A100 will own the M50 comfort wise as they are very comfortable. The biggest thing I did not like about the A100 was a bit of what I call the cavern effect sound wise (bit of an echo). Looks wise the A100 is simply georgeous.

 

If you primary concern is sound quality though I recommend the Denon DN-HP700 over the A100 as it has deeper more impactfull bass with no boominess, better mids, and better treble with no echo. But it will only be as comfortable as your M50 and will have a metal type looks to it as it is also a DJ style headphone.
