Which grado's you have?

I have heard good things about the RS1's with the HA-160. Im sure the 160D (with dac) could be a nice match as well.

Still the best amp for Grados that I have heard (and I've heard/owned a lot of different amps paired with my Grado cans over the years).

also my other headphones I would be using are AD700's and sennheiser 238's. But probably not the latter too much haha. MY budget is 100-150-200 if worth the cash.

THANKS!

For a very small budget, I was amazed at how good the uDac dac/amp sounded with SR225.  Some 90% of the way to the sound of the rig above, at 6% the price.  Due in part to the very warm sound of that dac and minimal amplification needs of Grados.  Since your 125s are modded, they probably don't have the standard Grado sound (all I've heard is stock) so I don't know if these sources would suit them.

The uDac2 is a great idea. The PA2V2 is a great amp for Grados under $100 too.

I was also thinking on the E7/E9 combo, anyone tried it with grado's?

What DAC is good for MAD Ear+HD and PC?

How much do you want to spend?

oh boy.. good valued amount I'd say, not looking for max.

I'd appreciate if you could break down into roughly 3 groups based on price <$600 <$300 <$200.

Thanks

Just stuff that I've actually personally heard or owned.

DACS

  1. AMB Gamma 2 - used, $220
  2. NuForce HDP (DAC/amp), $450
  3. HiFiMan HM-801 (also doubles as portable player), $800 - this is one seriously sick DAC comparable to desktop units.

AMPS

  1. Schitt Asgard, $250
  2. Schitt Lyr, $450
  3. HiFiMan EF5, $500
  4. Woo 6, $620++ (play with tube upgrades)

I thought the little dot would have been the best option? I'm looking to spend like 150 max
