Stupid connection question

I have a laptop with one of those cheap combined S/PDIF digital out / headphone plugs.  The digital is apparently optical, and you need a TOSLINK/optical jack to connect an optical cable and the plug.  So far, so good.

I have a DAC that does not have an optical input, only coax S/PDIF and 16 bit USB.  I could use the USB easily enough directly from the laptop.  But the S/PDIF input is supposed to be much better based on the decoding circuitry of the DAC.

Is there any kind of device that will convert from the laptop's optical output to the coax/miniplug input of the DAC?

Thanks,

M-Audio CO2 will convert 24-bit optical to 24-bit coaxial, and vice versa.

Another option is to get one of those USB to coaxial converters. Teralink X2 is one that can do 24/96 (search for "native 96k" on eBay). Others include uDAC2, M2Tech Hiface, Firestone Bravo, and Audio-GD Digital Interface.
