Getting "called-out" for not wearing the Beats - Page 323

Sorry to bring this back up...

I would have never known of Oatmeal and Loading Artist if not for 9gag. I also had stopped going to Cyanide Unhappiness and started going again because I see a comic on 9gag and decided to go back. I seriously think that argument doesn't work.

It does work, becuase they're not crediting the Oatmeal or etc. If you leave the watermark, it's all fair and good. If you remove the author's watermark, you're cancer.

Maybe they don't always use it, but I know for a fact in at least those I saw they always credited the author, because otherwise how would I know those comics? I mean I never before had heard of Loading Artist, now I do, it's logical to think they included the watermark or something. It's funny how people think sharing free comics is ruining it for the author, but piracy helps small bands expand =)

Never seen the guy's other reviews, but he manages to convey the point without sounding very offensive.

And at the end he redirects people to Head-fi.

I got to admit, I was like that when I first listened to the studios (before I was introduced to head-fi) ahhhh brings back memories, terrible terrible memories

I was quite impressed too so I don't blame people who are when they first listen to them. I wasn't as impressed as this guy though. Hahah

Lucky, I punched myself in the face for actually trying to get the beats when I wanted them

When I first tried the Beats demo stand at Best Buy about 3-4 years ago I will admit that I was impressed because I had not heard better. Now I realize how rigged their demo stand actually is, they are attached to an amp hidden under the display and they only use select songs to make them sound more impressive than they actually are.

Same here I always wondered what the beats were attached to. Then I found out and was disgusted how they would do something like that, but hey business is business even if it means fooling the innocent

I listened to them at Best Buy once, I honestly was disgusted and returned to listening to my Sennheiser HD 218s, which were $35!

They may not be the best sounding headphones in the world, but you have to stop and wonder how a company was able to become the fourth largest seller of headphones in two years while Sennheiser (been around since 1945), Audio-Technica (since 1962), have been around for so long.  Since Beats by Dre became popular, headphones sales have risen something like 79% since a few years ago.

If you want to appeal to the general population, aesthetics and usability should be just as important, if not more important, than sound quality.

Note: I'm not a fan of Beats by Dre, but I admit they do make certain songs sound fun.  Commonly recommended headphones like the ATH-M50, to me, are plain/'boring' in every way (The sound, looks, comfort, isolation, etc..)
