Digital transport?

Hey guys,

I was thinking the other day , 'G wouldnt it be nice to have a device which only transports your digital files without doing any DAC or Amp work?"

Now days dedicated portable DACs and AMPs are plenty and the only issue we have is finding a proper portable device. I know there are devices out there like the Cypher which convert your iPod to such devices but this would mean you are paying for all those other features of iPod for no reason. It would be really good to see someone out there who would come up with a device where you can use your own  laptop hard disk and all it does is feeds the signal of the Hard dish to a DAC?

What do you guys thing, is such deviece even possible? Think about it, a device which is truly a source and nothing else! Capable for hot-swaps anytime! =D

1. Digital out from my netbook

2. QLS QA 350, and I dont need a netbook. The day they release a model with FLAC support and support for larger SD cards, this thing will be the talk of the town.

It would be nice to see some focus on portable digital transporters alone. Netbook is way to big to portable means. QLS QA 350

There is a difference between 'portable' and 'transportable' - I just dont see you with the Solo stack on a bus, but perhaps I have led a sheltered life.
