Repair Sennheiser HD 250 Linear II

Hi,

I have a pair of Sennheiser HD 250 Linear II and I was happy with it. Now I have a problem with one of the side. I don't have a bass response. It is not the wire, because I swapped the side, and it is not my ears, I switch side as well.

I tested it with audacity by generating low level pure tone of 50,60Hz. On the good side I can ear it no problem at various volume setting. On the bad side I have nothing a low volume, but at a higher volume, it goes from silence to really bad noise. It actually sound like a square wave.

The higher frequencies are of no problem, neither in intensity or in distortion.

Is there something that I can do to repair them? I like to DIY, but I never mess with headphone before (I built speakers, solid state and tube amp gears). Should I look for a replacement?

Thanks
