How do I solder this Plug?

As shown, it has no terminals. Would anyone have experience soldering one of these or is it a no go? If I had a multimeter, I could check for continuity and go from there i guess...

If you had a fine tipped iron, you could do it *very* carefully. Use your multimeter to double check for which part corresponds to tip/ring/sleeve.

I'm guessing the right and left channels don't share a common ground/sleeve like they do in the plug terminals you see regularly here. Perhaps the ground is inter-twined withn the seperate channels themselves - to be soldered onto the two cores seen on the left.

I don't actually have the plug yet, just planning to buy as a replacement for my Q40 - the dreaded threaded 3.5mm plug.

This is how it should look.

++ NO recable should be done without continuity checking, IMO. More than the lack of terminals, the lack of a way to screw the plug onto the body scares me though - you can do without terminals with good soldering and smart use of heatshrink and/or hot glue (hot glue, heatsink and solder being the DIY electrical holy trinity ;p) It isn't going to be a good repair if you can't connect the business end of the plug, to barrel of the plug without foolproof mechanical support.

Isn't it a 3.5mm jack from Qables? They don't come with barrels. You can heatshrink it or bodge a neutrik/rean body onto it though.

Hi fonebone. Yes, configuration confirmed on another forum.

I agree with the continuity tests just to be sure.

Hi lawry. Yes, i plan to go the heatshrink path. On another note, how are those Bravo amps? It was either something similar (like Indeed) or the E7.  Bought the E7 due to portability. Great forum this one. I am new here and since joining, am sorry about my wallet too.
