Choosing the right power posts (B&W 803d & McIntosh mc501)

I hope nobody gets upset I ask about speakers here, I really only participate in this audio forum so I don't know where else to ask. If there is a correct place to post this and I didn't notice it, then please let me know.

I have a set of McIntosh MC501 monoblocks now and some B&W 803 Diamond speakers. Aside from plugging them in and listening to them I was curious to know if there was some good advice on which power posts I should use. I have the choice of 2, 4 and 8Ohm.

Recently I listened to a friend of mines Harbeth Monitor 30s on a Rouge Chronos Magnum, we moved from 8Ohms to 4Ohms and noticed a difference in the sound that was perceivably more pleasing.

Thanks!

It all depends on the speaker.  Check for their nominal impedance(ohms) and use the taps closest to what the speaker manual states.  Many time the figure is listed on the rear of the speakers.
