What's wrong with my speaker?

Hello guys,

First post,

I Need some help here.

One of my Mackie Hr624 MkII's has been giving out a crackling, fuzzy noise for quite a while now. I did some troubleshooting myself -- I've used both RCA and TRS connectors, changed DACs, using a different power cable, using a different power source; all to no avail. I got it serviced because it was under warranty, and it's still the same when I got it back.

I've got a sample recording made with my cell phone. The recording is a little soft (bear with it). But in reality, it is actually very, very disturbing IF there is nothing playing from the speakers. And no, it is not pickup from the DAC, because the problem is still there with just the power cable and nothing else attached to it.

It 'seems' to be more evident from the tweeter than the woofer, but they're probably at the same 'loudness'.

Cheers,

Your speaker are powered speaker. So the problem is coming form the build in amp. To me it sounds like there may be a bad solder spot somewhere or some caps going bad.
