HM-801 How to Change Battery?

I bought an extra battery for my HM-801, but I can't seem to get the battery cover off - I could apply a LOT of force, but I'm afraid to try that for fear of damaging the unit.

 

Nowhere do I find any instructions on this. Is there some secret I am missing here?

Slide the cover down.  Don't worry about the force needed since the cover itself isn't connected to anything important.  I typically take the battery out after turning it off to make sure the damn thing's actually powered down.

To be more precise: I typically hold it and both hands and place my thumbs on top of the batter cover.  Then I pull down with my thumbs and push the rest of the unit up from theb ack with my fingers.

I wish Hifiman would now provide a decent leather case accessory and a battery dock to charge it out of the player - two absolute essentials for a portable unit...
