New Radiohead album in 5 days!!!

It's called The King Of Limbs and it will be released this Saturday.

 

You can buy a 320kbps MP3 for $9, WAV for $14, or for the big fans, there's a nice $48/$53 package including vinyls, art, and so on (including the digital copy, of course).

it's been rumored for 2 or 3 months that a new album was "close to finished."  so not completely

out of the blue.

that being said, its kind of astounding that they were able to keep an actual release date under wraps until 5 days prior.  Nobody really even knew if the album was actually finished or not yet.

It's the first time anyone heard about it. There have been all sorts of rumours and ambiguous statements regarding the next album for a very long time now but no one knew when it was coming or what it would be called.

 

They did the same thing with In Rainbows, when no one found out about it until they made the announcement 10 days before release. But this time they even one-upped themselves by decreasing that window from 10 days to 5.

 

The reason they've been doing that is because their previous album (Hail to the Thief) leaked online long before it release date so they wanted to prevent leaks. What better way than to not even announce an album's existence until immediately before release?

Already pre-ordered my copy smily_headphones1.gif

Anyone getting the special edition version that allegedly comes with 600+ small pieces of artwork? It looked interesting, but I don't have a vinyl player, so it didn't seem worth it to me.

You have just made my day!  I just placed the order now!  As much as I'd like an advanced WAV copy of the album, I can't justify it.

 

Now I have yet another vinyl from a limited edition.  More and more the stars are pointing me to buying a new TT.

This was the best v-day i've ever had!!!!!!

I just got the Deluxe set with the Mp3 because we're getting the physical copy of the cd and vinyl later anyways.

And I don't think I can tell the difference between 320 and Wav.

Either way it's going to be amazing!

I want to know the tracklist NOW.
