I really recommend listening to the album ''Bricolage''. It has a really chilled out flow to it, but at the same time its also very dark, fast-paced and somewhat aggresive on some songs.

No way! This is the guy who composed the SCCT sound track? Hands down my favorite sound track of all time. You haven't the slightest clue how addicted I was to that game.

Good thread... gonna have to do some digging.... Here's some "ambient/electronic' I've been listening to... might fit this thread...

Brian Eno - Aphex Twin .. these two might not be "chill" more of a sountrack feel.

these are more chill.

Bonobo, Nujabes, Thievery Corporation, Telefon Tel Aviv, Telepomusic, Twin Shadow, Teengirl Fantasy, Royskopp.

this group is a cool mix of classical, jazz and chill.

Cinematic Orchestra... this is one of my favorite songs from them... I believe they have three albums out.

Someone was looking for some middle eastern tracks.

The one track that poped into my mind was- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jR67nIhLaBg

Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan mixed by Massive Attack. You need to find a better copy than what's on

youtube.

Guitar's album Tokyo is on Spotify and is superb, thanks for finding them. I am very in to post rock and modern prog and this mixes those genres with others as well. I could fit Guitar into my jazzy, mellow and instrumental playlists on Spotify.

Based on previous suggestions you could check out Chicane

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uoTd4RQt7As

and even some film soundtrack compositions such as American Beauty

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FNzNYGxjNT0

or check out composer Paul Leonard-Morgan

who has written for film and TV.

This kind of music is no genre as it crosses over so many genres, giving each a twist.

Well nobody said it completely, so I'll just tell you that these songs fall under "chill-out" - not a genre, but it associated with many different genres like ambient, electronica, trip hop, jazz, new age, "easy listening" or lounge, and many many more. It's more like a characteristic of music as mellow, relaxing, midtempo. A lot of very contrasting musics labeled with different genres could be considered chill-out. It's pretty distinct as you can hear, so that's maybe why Pandora gave you a bunch of songs that differed greatly yet still seemed to be in the same line. It's my favourite kind of music and there are tonnes of great compilation albums out there.

The Ministry of Sound have brought out various compilations with many of the groups/artists discussed. They tend to be called Chilled or Chillout and are worth a listen for further ideas.
