Advice on tube DAC

How do all,

I'm new to PC Hi-Fi, and I need some advice from you guys, thanks.

I already have a HD 580, and a solid headphone amp that I like. In the past I just hook it up with my tube CD player. When trying to use my Mac laptop as sound source, I figured that I'll have better sound if I use a DAC instead of the sound card in my laptop. The thing is I like to have a little "tube" sound, so:

(1) Is it the right thinking that I should look for a tube DAC? and if so,

(2) What would you guys recommend?

I try to use as much old device I have to save money, so maybe not looking into a tube headphone amp at the moment.

And oh...my budget is around $400, the less the better. Any comments and advice will be appreciated. Thanks!

A thread bump...I just searched the forum, and found the Scott Nixon USBTD, not sure if that will be good for a starter PC-Hifi DAC?

Thanks.
