so i think ill be using a dpdt toggle because i use a discrete rail splitter and each rail has its own filter cap.

If you also put the rail splitter ahead of the switch, you put its quiescent current draw there, too. The nice thing about putting only caps ahead of the switch is that their leakage current is negligible.
okay so ill tie the cap ends to the battery then switch then the rail splitter. the DPDT have to be darn in-synch in theory. in my version i omitted input coupling caps, DC offset in the input leads are too low to measure

is there any significant improvements in SQ in upgrading to a +/- 9v PS? i use low impedance grado
