I need a small desktop amp for work.

I would buy one of those nice portable iBasso amps, but I don't need the batteries.  I just want something to hook my iPod to for my IEMs and portable headphones.

I like musical, fun sounding amps.

I like my bass with a side of clarity.

thanks in advance.

Headroom has plenty of desk top options for any budget. I've enjoyed a few of their products in the office, on the road, and at home.

Nothing there is very budget friendly nor is it exactly small. Unless you count the airhead amps, but I'll pass if those are my only options.

Also I should note that I don't want to exceed $200 but I may go to $250 depending on the amp.

The EF2A perhaps? It's a small DAC/AMP. Perhaps use the DAC instead of an ipod. . . it'll sound better. The stock tubes suck though - need to be replaced. The bass sounds fantastic with the tubes I'm using.

I used to own the ef2, not my cup of tea. I have to use my iPod because it's a work computer. I need an amp only setup.

The Ortofon HD-Q7 is a very sleek and tiny desktop amp. I wrote a review on it a couple months ago that you can read about in my profile. Cheers.
