Sennheiser HD540 Reference II in excellent condition REDUCED

These are in really good shape but I have decided to keep my HD600 for now, no need to keep them both as I am trying to pare down my collection.

 

An extra set of drivers are available as well, although there is nothing wrong with the installed drivers and these headphones have never been taken apart or modified.

 

Price now includes Priority Mail shipping in the USA and Paypal fees.

Hello.

How do hd 540 ref II compare to the hd600?

The reason i am asking is because i want to buy a pair of 600's and i cannot find a decent review on the hd540 ref II for comparison. Since you seem to have owned them both i think u will be best qualified to tell me the difference.

Also i was trying to find a freq response graph for the hd 540 ref II but i did not find anything

Both the Sennheiser HD540II and the Sennheiser HD560II are better than the HD600 (I've used all three models). HD600 has an audible upper bass "hump" and this affects its tonal accuracy. The HD540II and HD560II are the closest I have heard to a wholly neutral frequency response. HD540II is my favourite headphone, with the HD560II coming in at VERY close second place.
