A friend of my godson has a pair and I got a chance to hear them away from the BestBuy display. Although they sounded better they still didn't impress me. My view is if I'm going to spend 300 clams on a headphone theres by far better out there. If they were say 150 to 180 my view would change to OK not a bad set of headphones for the price but 300 is just a ripoff. Probably the silliest things about these cans is supposedly they were given the thumbs up by Dr Dre himself. With the level of mid bass boom and sloppy uncontrolled bass in general I'm shocked he would ever give these things the thumbs up.

these are the beats pros, they actually cost $400, less bass than the beats by far, but the definition was simply inadequate

Oh OK I stand corrected. Can't comment on those then because I haven't heard them.

C32, absolutely. I'd add in original Omegas as well.

Now that I have the Ed8 coming, this is my next target:

Stax Codename: "C32"

I'm not one for hype, but... wow. Prepare for impact.

And I'd like a nice KG T2 to run it as well.

x3 on the SR-Omega comments as well.

I know the AKG K702 has gotten mixed reviews but I can't help but wonder what they sound like.

K702 huh...through a decent amp, think B&W P5 with less bass, but more clarity, detail and soundstage. Well, ultimately it's useless to describe it, though.

I'm lusting after a pair of Beyerdynamic T1s. Pretty much everyone knows what they look like, but here:

Also, perhaps one day I'll have a pair of Sensaphonics 3MAX. They're customs, so no pictures. Just envision a pair of customs in translucent gray.

Armandhammer:

I can understand the Grado PS1000, But the GS1000?

I have both, but the GS1000 is utter rubbish.

The PS1000 is one of my favourite cans..........
