Grand Theft Head-Fier

Through the browsing, reading, posting, replying, I found myself wondering if due to an increase in Head-Fi's members, it also increased the chance that some not-so-well intentioned people joined as well, and could be hijacking unsuspecting head-fiers acounts. This doubt of mine started after seeing not one or two head-fiers which had already a couple hundreds of posts, going about with their ear drooling, wallet sobbing life around here, then all of a sudden they seem to snap confused.gif The next thing you notice is that the person that just a little ago was coherent with his line of thought, now just rambles nonsense and worse, shouts bad advices for anyone who might be listening and not paying attention enough/not knowledgeable enough to discern such things.

So, what is it all about?

Black hat folks going rampant?

Tin foil hats started getting holes and paranoia took over?

Some head-fier's gf dumped said head-fier because he spent more money and respective attention span to his gear than to his significant other?

I honestly don't think this is one for the ages, as in the sense that it's an unsolvable mystery...

Perhaps some members are not sober all the time! ph34r.gif

Hey, I don't argue with that at all wink.gif just that I don't feel that the fine (or not so much) art of getting hammered doesn't give place to radically opposite personalities, as well as a lack of the common expressions and little details that are characteristic of that person.

It's a heist, a global plot, or worse... Beats folks might be more than willing to take revenge on innocent Various-Fi Head-Fiers which haven't done any harm to the world of music and to the ears of music listening people, who little by little can and are being converted from the Skullcandy and Beats "tier" of audio to something more palpable, and dare I say even normal biggrin.gif

yeah.. probably that..or maybe not even the same personality ...  ive definitely questioned the sobriety, not to mention mental stability of more than one "headphoneous supremous" around here from time to time.

such is the way of the world.. head-fi is no different.

This isn't some sort of personal attack on certain head-fiers is it? blink.gif

Anyways, if you believe there's felony a-foot, contact the mods.

I can't say I've noticed anything like this lately, though I may just not be paying attention. It could well be that the "usual" persona of some members...well, isn't. You can be anybody you want on the Internet, depending on how convincingly you pull it off. If people snap it might be because they were always holding it back, just beneath the surface where, unlike in real life (you know, that thing we used to have with physical presence?), it's invisible.

Or they could just be drunk, or trolling. We can't count those out. biggrin.gif

I do hope that it's just personality fluctuations, as I would hate that there are people hacking other head-fiers accounts only to troll around or do plain misdemeanors.

@matthewh133: This thread is about unexpected constant erratic behavior of some members, which had not been like that at all in the past. Just worried someone might be stealing accounts around here. But since I'm not sure, I don't think it's fair to contact mods about it. Hopefully it might be just drunk/troll/random alien abduction behavior biggrin.gif

So let me get this straight.. You think some people are hacking other head-fier's accounts in order to post on their account erratically? Lol..

Read the thread from the start. Then explain drastic behavior changes.

^ Burden of proof is on the accuser, no? Could you list specific examples and name names, else it's difficult to have any sort of real discussion.

I thought people here were insane 24/7, seeing how much (time and money) is spend on headphones. They don't snap.

Oh trust me, after dropping a grand on the LCD-2's, I'm pretty sure any sanity I once had is now gone.

I hate you guys so much.

Kirosia, I've just noticed a few of those cases and didn't write their names down. I am just merely giving a heads up in the event something like this might be happening.

llama_egg, did the LCD-2 bring you closer or further from reality? I'm quite curious to know as I also want to experience that firsthand biggrin.gif

Alluding I see.
