Facebook Screws Members' Photos to place ads!

Oh, snap!  Has anyone noticed that today Facebook has changed their photo viewer, so that when you click on a photo to view, the bottom of the photo is cut off in order to display an ad at the lower right corner.  Only way to view the entire photo is to keep pushing control/- to make the photo small.  Absolute FAIL and shows where Facebook is headed!

Hahaha, one of the many reasons why I deleted my Facebook a while back...

It's working the same as always for me. I'm not seeing any ads.

What OS and Browser are you using?  When you click on a photo, a photo viewer with black background (and an ad right lower corner) does not pop up?

On Win 7, I've tried firefox, chrome, internet explorer, and photos are cut off unless resized small.  I've heard reports that Mac users' photos aren't cut off, though.

One work-around is to right-click the photo and click "reload."  This seems to work for chrome and firefox but temporary.

XP and Firefox at work. Vista and Firefox at home.  It doesn't behave at all like the video you linked.  I click on a photo in the news feed and I go to a new page with that photo filling the content frame.  I've never seen the inline viewer and I haven't changed any settings.

It works normally for me, too. Just like scompton, 'cept that I'm using Windows 7 and Chrome.

No problems for me either, Firefox and Windows XP (I work for a poor organization).

I go for a month at a time without looking at it.   I like it because I've reconnected with friends from 20-30 years ago who are now all over the world.

I don't understand peoples beef with Facebook. You don't HAVE to access it 24/7 to keep it under control... I open it every time I have a spare moment for a few minutes to check what people have been saying, tell them they're wrong, etc. And you don't even have to do that.

There's really no point deleting a Facebook account imo. Why not just turn off email notifications and forget it exists until you really need it to contact someone?

I got the new interface today, but I'm not getting ads on the picture viewer popup

I get a small advert in the bottom right, but it's not really a big deal.

My wife wanted to clean up her friend list and couldn't find it.  I found it, but it took 5 clicks or so to get to it.  Their developers have too much time on their hands.

It's on the page immediately after logging in, on the left.
