I am looking to get into vinyl, since I understand it is better quality than digital sources. I plan to use the TT for listening primarily.
Someone is offering me a Technics SL-1200MK2 (year unknown) which comes with a cartridge, plastic dust cover, Technics headshell, and a carpeted road case all for $275. They also mentioned it may need a new needle soon.
Is this worth it/good deal? I am really not looking to spend any more, for sure.
The reason I am looking to the SL-1200MK2 is because I want something that will give me better sound than any of my digital formats (i.e. CDs, FLAC Files). Will this be what I want?
P.S. I plan to hook this up to the phono inputs on a Sony STR-BD930 A/V Receiver, to a pair of ATH-M50s.
