hey,
I currently own a set of Beyerdynamics MMX 300 Headphones and a Astro A40 Amp. I had previously have been using these via optical cable on my Playstation to play games/watch films. I recently decided I was going to connect these up to my Apple Mac laptop so I could listen to music/play games/watch films. This is where my problem begins how would I get 7.1 Headphone Dolby Digital sound out of my macbook as I believe the headphone jack only offers 2 channel stereo sound output?? I am currently using a Y audio cable to connect the two.
What would be the best way to connect my Macbook to my Amp??
Here's the links to the headphones

And to the amp

Use optical output from your laptop, most Macs have optical output.
