slim comply P's, wearing down, using the shirt clip, a little EQ- finally satisfaction.

Yeah, the slim comply P is something that I think will fit most people and give them good fit with the er4 even though initially they might consider going for the "standard" medium size. Definitely my favorite foam tips for the ety even though there was time when I used only shure olives. Oh, and props for the Halestorm video - big fan.

Since morning that i got to work i had the craving for er4s+C4 setup. It might be sad but the only gear i have a sentimental attachment to is the er4s.

shame that the er4b prices are still high. I think my next purchae is certainly going to be that.

anyone knows any where that i can purchase a replacement cable for my unit beside apuresound? I don't want to send mine back to etymotics, can't risk losing it.

I'm working on making an er4s to er4b adapter.  It's just a passive filter circuit.  I have a schematic for the er4p to b, but I need to get the values for the s...

Top image is the original circuit of the ER-4B.

Bottom image is the ER4P to B circuit for ER-4P.

For reference, the 18ohm resistor R5 is the built in resistor in the ER-4P.

I don't have the brain for those things you posted biggrin.gif

Way to go luisdent, All ER4PT will be a 3 in 1 IEM if you succeed to do a S to B adapter....P to S to B :D

Me too, what I know just use 2pcs 100 ohm resistor and 2 pcs of caps 220nF. That's right?

You cansimply use a 75 ohm resistor to go from p to s. Then if you want p to b you can use the adapter from the diagram i posted. That's all three models fron just owning the p. I just want an s to b because i don't own the p.

Thanks for the info luisdent, time to DIY or can I purchase the P to B adapter anywhere?

I haven't seen any around lately.  Looked for one an couldn't find one.

FYI, I've posted a few remix songs that I did completely with the ER4S.

http://handtokey.blogspot.com/2014/02/hans-zimmer-remixes-now-on-soundcloud.html

I focused mainly on the two orchestrated versions.  The piano synth version was very quick and not really that polished and tweaked.  Noble Horizons is my favorite and the one I put the most effort into I think (maybe tied with "A Rising People"...  I did only a few very quick final checks on speakers.  100% of the mixing was done with the ER4S using my "luis's reference" EQ inserted on the output channel to create a reference response before mixing (I disable this EQ before mixdown).

I'd love to know what people think. I'm finding the ER4S extremely capable for mixing and mastering music.  The ONLY area where they don't work perfectly is the dynamics.  Sometimes something will sound good and powerful in the ER4S, but not overdone, whereas on any speakers I check, the dynamics are too great and the change in volume is drastic.  This isn't always the case, but I find that is the one area I need to make sure I check on speakers each time to ensure the overall mix dynamics are consistent and not too drastic.

Otherwise, the panning, channel EQs, effects, etc. are all extremely well represented in the ER4S.  So much so that I never need to adjust them from my expectations when listening on my studio monitors.

Anyway, these actually aren't the remix I had recently mentioned.  That is coming shortly. ha.  This was a last minute "hey, there's a contest" project I started and just finished...  I might have done more, but I found out too late and the contest deadline came up too fast... :-P

You guys should try ER4-B.
I think this is the Director's Cut of what we cherish as Ety Sound.

Worth the try / buy because i was also thinking the product was only intended for Binaural recordings. I love the sound and I turned a 10 drivers CIEM user to hunt for ER4-B when he tried mine.

Best ETY IMHO
