D2000 Cup Size

Hello everyone,

I recently bought a pair of recabled Denon D2000's and I'm thinking of doing a DIY Lawton Audio mod essentially.

I'm wanting to build my own wood cups but here's the problem...

I'm wondering if anybody here knows the radius and such that would fit onto the D2000's.  I'm not saying the exact specs that Lawton Audio uses, but rather, what will fit onto the D2000's.

If anybody could point me in the right direction short of emailing LA, that would be great.

Thanks!

Sounds like quite a project to undertake... have you worked with wood before?  Do you have access to a wood shop and/or all required equipment?

I have all the woodworking materials that I would need.  Between my stepdad and myself we have about $10,000 worth of woodworking tools.  I should in theory have everything I would need.

And my stepdad has built desks, beds, tables, etc. so we have a decent skillset.

Again I ask.  Is there nobody who knows anything about this?  I even emailed Lawton Audio but they haven't responded to me (no surprise).

Forgive me if I'm being obtuse, but..... can't you just measure them?

Well.  Actually I don't have anything besides a ruler in my room, and I don't feel that's going to help me all that much.

Take a string and wrap it around the cup radius, then measure the length that you wrapped.

Your absolutely right, admitting that you have a measuring tool at your disposal will probably not help you get someone else to measure and draw these for you.

It's not that I'm incapable of doing so.  I was just wondering if anybody had a precise measurement.

You know whatever.  Head-fi isn't really being helpful today.  Thread closed.
