A Boost For The X series Walkman

Hi All,

 

My first post in this forum. Hope you're all doing good.

 

Here's an option for all you sony x series owners to give improvements in sq and also allows for hard to drive phones to be used with ease.

 

I been using the x series since it was released as my travel portable kit. About 6 moths ago I thought I'd see if it was able to improve the sq of this excellent player. after a bit of searching I managed to find online a line out cable to 3.5mm jack, it's around 4" long, got this from China at about £18. I then bought the portable dual mono head amp v2 from Neco with the. mine's fitted with the AD 8610 opamps wink.gif

 

I must say that the sq and soundstage has been increased greatly. The amp is small enough to velcro to the back of the player and has plently of power to allows me to play my AKG 702's gs1000.gif

 

Not sure if any others are doing this, thought I'd share this as the player / amp combo is excellent. The only downside is that the battery life is reduced as it's running at higher volume through the line out.

Hi, yes it looks similar, mine is made by 'pailiccs'. I seem to remember a company called ALO or something were selling them too for around $150.

Lots of people have LOds an duse them with the X series and I am one of them too. I use the X with a Meier Corda Stepdance and I have to say I am very happy with the combo along with Beyerdynamic T5ps.

I got mine from eBay as well,...for like $10.00USD and quite some time ago. This is, BTW, not a new topic - it's actually quite old.

I checked eBay and it seems that these LODs have become more popular and there are ones with nicer cable sand jacks too if anyone is interested.
