Sennheiser HD 600 Impressions Thread - Page 598

Several hours on HD600, bass gets better, mids and highs smoother. Simply, HD600 gets better than my first hour of use.

Yes... perhaps... but will they involve you into the music like Sr60 :L3000:

They're more realistic sounding (and more comfortable) - that's for sure ;)

I bought used one, already passed burn in period so the can sing beatifully out the box..:)

Thinking to replace pads that almost "flat".. ..another $26 for earpad and $7 head pads...:confused_face_2:

Listening with my Sennheiser 600 HD's it certainly didn't sound as good is my little dot IV MK SC, but schiit manufacturer is not without its bargains if you can afford their high-end. I also listen to the Mjolnir schiit solid-state amplifier which cost $900 if you require a USB input or $1500 with their high-end DAC which eliminates the need for the USB adapter, but sounded as good as many of tube amp I listen to which cost in excess of $6000. For me this was the highlight Bagan CanJam show even though it's a little too expensive for my blood.

Were you saying you were not overly fond of the Vahalla 2, but the MjoInir is something you consider a very good buy becasue it competes with some more expensive tube amps you like?

I am overtired so honestly just curious. Dod upi try try the MjoInir with the HD600s?

Where did you find the $26 price? or do you mean per ear?

They're Chinese copies, rather than official sennheiser pads.

Granted, they look like pretty decent copies, but there's no guarantee they'll sound the same (never underestimate the importance of pads on how a headphone sounds!)

I would never put chinese knockoffs on something like Sennheiser cans. I say don't cheap out and order OEMs. They will serve you another 10 years.

FWIW : Earlier this year I bought a HD800 & HD600 replacement cables on ebay from China & had to return both of them.  The plugs on the HD800 cable were to small & the ones for the HD600 were defective.  I swore to myself I would never buy anything for my HPs from China again.

Yes I am saying that.  Vahalla 2 didn't sound very good to me at all,but Mjolnir schiit solid-state amplifier sounded so good that I think it is the solution for a tube rolling sound of a tube amp without the bother of tubes and tube rolling. In fact the goodness of its sound so excites me that even though I can't afford its technology in it itself I am thinking of looking for a a do-it-yourself project which employs its technology. It uses and I quote "Mjolnir is the only dedicated headphone amp using an Circlotron-style topology with high-voltage JFET inputs and MOSFET outputs" their promo then goes on to say "And, since it’s all solid-state, it’s set-and forget. No tubes to replace. No tube rolling" and to my ears the promos walk equals its talk!

The HD600's are clearly heaven sent. Some mystical force pushed the makers into creating an almost perfect and very universal headphone for the good of humanity.

Well, I've just joined the club! What an amazing headphone, one that stands up to it's reputation!

The HD600's sound fantastic out of the box, what a delicious sound!
