As the HE6 is not similar in treble to HD600 :o

When i compare K702 to HD600 the curve to me is quite close (unless in treble) .

IF this graph is not similar to you , i don't know what you are seeking

Looking at those 2 graphs, IMO the HD600 graphs bears more resemblance to the HE-6 graphs. The K702 graphs may seem similar, but the treble spike/drop actually contradicts one and another. On the other hand, the HE-6 graphs follows the same spike/drop pattern as the HD600.

K702 has it's peak around 2.2khz while HD600 has it's peak around 3.7khz and they almost invert each other at 6k but yeah the bass is the same... they're both neutral on that end :)

I just find it really interesting how close HE-6 is to HD600's treble on the graphs. That peak at around 14khz is perfectly alligned to the same frequency as is the 22khz peak. It's a really close match... I feel intrigued in checking the HE-6 out.

14khz and 22khz peak ? their is not much audio informations on this ranges (on some case yes , but not very often) . Take a track on audacity and cut 14khz and beyond .

But yeah the patern of HE6 seams closer to HD600 on highs , just not at same levels .

Yes I know, but it's a correlation and the lower highs are also very much similar. Don't forget the supersonic theory either. ;)

I wanted to know if anyone active in this thread has used the Matrix Mstage with the HD600s? Because I am receiving ti from a friend from here tomorrow, and I am very excited to have a well liked and positively review unit like this. My only hope is that I find it agreeable with the HD600s and or the DT880s. I know the fournier has been a blessing thus far with every headphone I have used it with. Along, with the fact that my buddy got rid of his tubes and sent me a matched pair 1950s RCA ECC82/!2AU7's and I am looking forward to listening to them with the unit as well as my DT 880s but more importantly my HD600s.

I've been using my HD600s with a Matrix M-Stage amp and they sound great, its a fairly neutral solid state amp and works wonderfully well with the 600s.  More than enough power to drive them anyway.

Oh, thank you so much for getting back to me so fast. I am going to be getting in tomorrow via USPS, and I am very excited about trying it out with HD600 and even the DT880s. I love the Fournier and am excited about trying the 1950s RCA tubes. I want a good sounding solid state amp though. I heard this is easily one of the best amps in it's price range, and I hope that is accurate. What op amp is installed into yours? And I heard it is easy to upgrade to a better on if need be but not sure what would be considered a better op amp chip and how easy it is for someone that has never done it before. Let me know what chip you have and if you think that is great how it is.

Does it has to be burn in for 100 hours? I have just received mine 3 days ago and I fall in love with sound and spiciness right out of the box.

Your ears are correct! It does not need burn-in. Enjoy it now and always. Perhaps you will find some apparent burn-in effect after a few weeks, perhaps you won't. In any case, using and enjoying them is the best way to go.

Thanks. I guess the sound is going to be change little bit and it's in a good way as it did for my Momentum Over Ear and Custom One Pro but I guess it's more like your ear gets too used to the sound so it's feels much better rather than the sound is actually changing.

If your HD600 sound damn good, then there's must be something wrong with your unit. :D

It's love at first sight. She has that effect on many of us. She's a keeper the HD 600. You're in good hands. Enjoy!

So Matrix M-Stage has arrived, in all it's glory. When my friend said this is an unused unit just open boxed...he was not kidding it looks brand new, and even smells brand new(either you get it or you dont.) Well of course I pushed through my daughter and my wifey to get to my desk and hook this up to the Fostex HP-A3 via RCA interconnect. First impressions :  Clean clarity, with slightest hint a warmth and if I have not heard completely flat amps I would probably not even recognize what the warmth was or that it was there really. It has a nice crisp highs with detail without being bright, and it is not too crisp where it is sharp. The bass response is nice, not boomy  but does have a bit of oomph perhaps that slight warmth I am hearing has something to with that, and I like it because it feels controlled all the same. With the both treble and bass out of the way and sounding well with the HD600 let us move to the HD600s forte, being mid range. Does not take anything away is certain, but is not as forward or lush as the Fournier HTA-2 which in some music and headphones I prefer, but I do not want to give the wrong impressions and being that these are my first impressions I can say that it does sound smooth for the midrange and detailed. You add these three things on a good and balanced sound stage, I would like to think it hits the mark especially for a well balanced mostly neutral and great sound amp. I do not think I have listened to a solid state of this quality being that I am new to nicer entry lvl to mid fi lvl gear.  I will post some pictures of Patrick's A team when I get a chance, and I do have to say for me being in love with the Fournier and to have such good impressions with this amp is a pretty sweet deal, especially how different sounding Solid states and tube hybrids can be.
