Thanks - Brooko

In My Opinion.  I can't really give you more than my impressions. You can see my headphone history in my profile, I own currently a headphone that's often considerered as "The Imaging King" and I still found my HD580 (I bought it twice and sold the last because I found the right combo to make my HD800 a good allrounder for my tastes so I don't need any complementary headphone ) is one of the best headphone I owned especially because of its ability to present the music in a both natural and enjoyable way. I prefer the HD800 but I really could live with a HD580/600. There's no doubt in my mind ;)

PS: In fact , I bought my second HD580 because I needed money and wanted to sell the HD800. For me the HD580 was the cheapest and the closest way to replace my HD800 ;) . Fortunately, i could keep my HD800 and sell my 580 to a friend of mine.

Very glad you managed to hang onto the 800's. A lovely headphone IMHO.

Does HD580 = HD600 ?  Are both 300 ohms?

Yes. They're nearly identical both in term of sound and drivers/parts.

So is there absolutely no reason not to get the Amazon $269.00 for the HD 580s price rather than the $399.95 for the HD 600s Amazon Price?

PS for a moment there I thought I was finding a different frequency curve for the HD 580 as compared with the HD 600 but now I'm having a hard time trying to find any frequency curve for the HD 580. Does anybody know what the story is?

In My opinion 269$ for a used pair is a bit expensive. I bought my two pair 100€ each.  but 399$ seems to be a bit expensive too. is there anywhere else with lower prices for HD600 in the US?

One can get an HD600 with a $100 instant rebate at RazorDog. Use the below link and find the coupon code at the bottom of that page. They have a coupon for any purchase over $399 and the HD600 clears that by 95 cents. :D Go for it while the offer is on. They also have a $50 coupon for items over $249.

Edit: bbmiller, don't be  swayed too easily by one person's words. You notice how many people spoke up after my post. The HD600 is a well liked headphone, for good reasons.

Maybe you can call them and work out ordering it in advance and get that $100 rebate. There has to be a good reason why their sold out, especially when a $100 rebate is offered,

The meaning of "Clearance"is that you can blame the morons at Head-Fi if you don't like their suggestions once the kit arrives. :D

Now the waiting begins...You are going to enjoy this. Don't let any of the audio snobs affect you. And watch that volume knob, there's enough to make your ears cry like a little girl baby. Strikeout that sexist remark.
