I think my greatest challenge is HE500. I regard this can as a "joke" because the fun it creates. It is never real to me but it is fun. It  is like watching Transformers or better yet Kungfu Panda

It never have the character of HD600..heavy drama impact kinda feeling

The current sound coming out from He500  reminds me of my  ~6 feet maggies speakers,

runned by a  threshold amp & Conrad Johnson preamp running in pure class A operation.

Wish i had the HE6 like you. That is  a serious beast you have there.

Running it using a T amp with Dc current supply is an "out of the box

idea" . A great idea - like seriously. But lock that max volume..else you shall need a fire extinguisher

 nearby.

This is hd600 thread..Sorry guys ..off topic

Although for the past month i  have been listening & tweaking  my hd800, but there is one time i put  back to my hd600 just to gauge the achievement i have on HD800 .  I thought my hd600 will sound mediocre because i got used to high end sound. My god, i was totally smacked in the face by this beloved can  BIG TIME . In fact, I dont even dare to listen   Adele concert in Royal Albert hall or even Britney live in Toronto or  Lady gaga concert  in New York after listening to Yanni concert in Aculpolco using HD600. It was too much to take.

( =hd600 on steroids )

there is alot of "music" inside the bass-zone that will rumble your emotion from deep inside your soul. lolz

Listening Close Your Eyes by Michael Buble. Auw... Goosebumps and emotional at the same time. The voice, guitar strum, and piano sound so beautiful. *Sob sob* Oh my, HD 600 get's better day by day, even though with Aune T1.

Just EH 6922 tube. Waiting for my OG from Ohio. Estimated 3 weeks, posted last Friday. I guess still have time funding for a better amp, other than Crack. My wallet might cracked. :D M-Stage in my consideration but hardly find used one.

What matters most is we enjoy the musicality that the hd600 gives us.

To me , the key to music is emotion. A singer needs to tell a story to an audience in a believable way . In order to achieved that, the singer

needs to finds a way to connect with the song &  get  his emotion out to the audience  . Key point is the audience must believe him.

Thus,  it is logic  when i say that  the most important factor in a rig is to be able to capture that emotion . We are in fact the  indirect audience.

So we need to feel that emotion when listening in our rig.

Being able to be touched  by music is the bottom line .  As for my case, i know i was touched if my breathing somewhat

being dictated by the music. I am  so engrossed in the music that  I even stop breathing  just to get completely lost on music.

I wanted to share my experience .Trust me , its the emotion  is the "X" factor in the rig.

It is not easy to have Hd600 to sends goosebumbs to its owners esp with normal set up - so congrats

You must have something right in your rig.

I hope i did not offend you in any way.

I cannot appreciate micheal buble music..It is just not my taste..

he was an exceptional artist though

No it is not.  It is hand built  by my colleague.

This unit to be fed by conditioned electricity to perform at its best

Most of the stuff i am using is not meant for consumer use. i like mine to be different ,

Being different  doesn't mean it is the best .

I like the feeling of owning  something "limited"

I am  very much particular in selection of DAC or DAC amp  rather than amp.

To me ,  the source is the utmost important in a rig.

When the source is right, the next upgrade will be easy  esp when you have a DAC with an amp

Speaking of schitt lyr, i once try this amp to power my hd600.

I had a pretty serious tube rolling & powercord rolling &  rca rolling( one even cost more than Hd600& cardas cable combined)

& power conditioners rolling  to go with the lyr

Well the music seems  like a set of data being digitized into sound . Its not music , it is merely a sound to me ..no life whatsoever

Uhmm ..thats is why i believe in matching

Did not try all the combo ? No.

Why? i find it not necessary .

Music that touches my  heart is one thing. This to me is nirvana

Music that touches my soul, well that is another level. But still nirvana to me

Both revolves around emotion. Speaking of emotion, it will remind me of Hd600.

Are you suggesting  me to betray my beloved HD600? HEHE:wink_face:

Which way you think that you offended me? Lol... Normal setup means mid entry setup? And what is abnormal setup? Lol... No offense taken mate. I knew my setup way cheaper than some of you guys here. I believe music to be enjoy and able to feel the emotion, but I believe that this isn't my end game yet. I will upgrade, but hopefully within 3-4 month. Current DAC amp is just my temporary setup. I just can't stay with on board soundcard. They sound like a crap. So, what is your taste then? :D

What is your final amp? Crack or Novo better? The problem with Crack is I don't have the skill to DiY and no one can help me neither. Budget only $200. and $250 is my maximum. Hopefully able to get some amp that doesn't cost a bomb for shipping to my country. Or Crack is definitely the best?

Other than possibly reducing interference that you may pick up from a power cord, how does "powercord rolling" affect the quality of sound?
