Personally, I don't see why we can't just keep discussing the hologram stickers...

Sorry what are the units on the "power required...sound pressure" parts.  I thought it might be Amps but you have current further down the table.  Is it volts for purely producing a specific SPL with a sine wave?

just to share my experience ..

I luv so very muuuuch .. I do not only hear ..but i listen & try to understand them
to me most important in music is the voice..it must be perfect to what i want, PERIOD
why ? human voice a the most powerful god given instrument which can evoke an enourmous amount of emotion .
In fact we can understand them ..its the language that we use to communicate..
For other than human voice such as violin or piano sounds, it is pretty much subjctive to understand them..
in other words , intepretation of it may differ from one to another..

So what the voice got to do with HD600?
I feel HD600 having the perfect "voice" to convey emotion ..meaning "right" one.
i could never forget the xpereince when i listened to chloe sings "Change" inYanni concert..
it only took me 5 seconds for tears running dow my check..At the end of the song ..i could not listen anymore music
because i "freaking" felt what chloe's felt -- hopelessly devasted ..Yes,she had tears in her eyes too when singing but she continued singing
i had tears everytime i listen to the song with HD600 .. Only then i confim that I was in audio nirvana

I wish my Hd800 had the HD600 voice..SERIOUSLY
yesterday.. i purchased one pair of rca ( which can buy HD600) from a friend. it turns my hd800 to vynl like analog even using stock cable
i compared the Hd800 to Hd600 in term voice ..there no doubt in my mind that HD600 wins
HD800 is just a B plus. Now i am in the process of getting DHC complemt cable for my Hd800 ...just to beat my hd600 in term of delivering emotion in the voice
Honestly.. i dont even dare to bet .

HD600 is a work of a true artist . pure classic

I don't have the English version of Yanni Voices but I have the Spanish version, and Chloe sounds great in that too :beerchug:

Flac> Foobar> Wasapi> Aune T1 (6922 tube)> HD600

I Believe I Can Fly by R. Kelly. Listening to this song, I definitely think I can fly. Again, I would like to repeat I really love the bass. My hair stand up when the background choir singing with R. Kelly. Oh my... There's no other word to explain, "eargasm"... IMO, HD600 is genre friendly as long the music not too aggressive.

I dont have the spanish..
but one thing i know.. i will literally had tears every time i listen to this song using hd600
i cry not because based on my past experience. I cried because i was sorry for her. i felt her sorrow

what yanni says its true..
" there is a depth in her soul . one the audiunce know it, it is impossible not to love"
i felt the depth in her soul with Hd600 ..

And i do love her... She in my opinion sits there with the untouchables---Celine,Mariah

I wish she enter "the voice" to catapult her career worldwide

Should a faithful reproduction of the recording not sound like the real thing being played live? I doubt recording engineers purposefully make the recording sound cold and sterile as opposed to sounding like the real thing.

One day you will know.

One of my friend having a studio recording said that he got tired of true sound ..
he doesn't have the same sound signature in for his personal hifi setup at his home..

Audiophile when istening to music, they want to be in the music world.
thats why we have so many brands..senns, grado, bryston, krell, macintosh, conrad johnson which have their own signature sound
Some people like this sound bt some people dont.. some like grado , some like senns

i am not claimng i am an audiophle..
but one thing i do know

the state of my audio nirvana is located in " no mans lands" which lies between two great music lands
if i cross one border , i will experience great music,
if i cross the other border , i will experience beautiful music
if i stay put, this is where i will feel heavenly spelbounded with music

i found my audio nirvana with hd600 ..
I havent found with hd800. hopefully my incoming Hd800 DHC complement cables will send me there
As fo HE500.. i lost hope.

why i choose to buy Hd800? I said it last time in my post..i have pampered too much on my Hd600

Some people here may have their own opinin & i respect that..

I just wanna my experience ..

hopefully one dont spend so much money to find the true sound but end he dont apreciate it.

Know your signature music preference ..then purchase or upgrade one by on to achieve it..

Having achieve all in one short time..well you will miss the excitement

You are obviously very passionate about your music and I think its great that you have found such pleasure with your HD 600 based setup, but I think a little dose of reality is in order here.

The HD 600 is a transducer, created by engineers to turn electrical signals into mechanical movement and emit sound. There is no mystical spirit living within the earcups adding rainbows and honey to the sound waves, and no amount of cable tweaking or power conditioning is going to change that.

The emotion you feel and the tears that run down your cheek are a personal subjective experience you enjoy while listening so music that moves you and for you, the HD 600 is the device that best delivers this for you. Purely subjective, of course, and different for everyone.

Again, its great that you enjoy your system so much. Im just putting forth the counterpoint that your particular opinion of the synergy of the HD 600, amp, cables, power conditioner, etc. is purley subjective and quite probably not repeatable by anyone else.

As for me, I really like the HD 600, but I have never been moved by any headphone the way you have. I need speakers to experience natural front soundstage, delays, reflections, and a sense of envelopment. The brain is able to adapt remarkably well to the hard left/right separation of headphone sound and "fill in the blanks" to make it enjoyable, but I would never say that headphones sound "like Im there." Thats impossible with headphones without some serious DSP... (And no, binaural recordings dont do it either - even the best ones dont present a true front soundstage to me).
