I bought my HD600 used for $250, and I must say it's a very good price for these.

I saw a place that has a special offer with the HD 600s being HK$2280 which is US$294. That looks cheap for a new pair imo.

I went there physically so I'm sorry but I do not know if there is a link. I found a link on Jaben HK :) http://www.jaben.com.hk/ProductView.asp?ID=336&SortID=245 they're HK$2430 (~US$313).

EDIT:

Another link, this time for DMA HK. http://www.dma-audio.com/product_detail.php?id=601 HK$2480 or US$320.

Well, i spontaneously took the plunge and ordered a pair of HD 600s after reading up to page 200 of this thread in the past week haha. I will be upgrading from the HD 598s and am currently using ODAC>Ibasso D4>598s. I ordered the HD 600s a long time ago and returned them because I didnt appreciate them at the time - I don't think i spent enough time with them and I really don't think my D4 mamba does them justice. My next step will be to order a new amp OR a new amp/dac. I havent decided how much I want to spend, but I'm either thinking of ordering the Zdac and using it as an amp/dac combo ( Project 86 had good things to say about his combo since the Zdac has 10 ohm output impedance) or getting an asgard2,o2, or bottlehead crack and staying with my ODAC. I am in this forum way too much and it keeps me up at night haha, so maybe I will just bite the bullet and go with the zdac or bottlehead crack. Decisions decisions :-)

I'm sure everyone here will be surprised to hear that my recommendation is to stick with the ODAC and get a Crack whenever you're ready...

Haha, I'm assuming that's sarcasm :-) .....Thanks for the advice!  I have experience soldering/rewiring my headphones so I should be able to tackle the Crack, especially for the price :-)

I have the hd598 for a while now and recently brought beyerdynamic dt880 and dt990 because it was on sale. dt880 is lay back and neutral while dt990 is a very fun headphone but highs are ear piercing...

want a hd600/650 as my next sennheiser upgrade XD

@ amcananey,

Have you run your HD600's balanced out of your Mjolnir?  I remember reading about some very-positive impressions of the HD600 when balanced.

Bottlehead Crack ordered :-) I was leaning towards it anyways.

We who have both the HD600 and LD combo don't have a lot of time to comment - too busy enjoying the melodious music ;)

MKIV owner - highly recommend it.

Crack/Odac is what i'm using and it's amazing, been 4 days now and i'm still as impressed as the first day and haven't enjoyed simply zoning out and getting lost in the music like i have been now for awhile. (although i have the speedball upgrade and some other upgrades and i bought mine used, etc).

If i could give one piece of advice, however... is to not expect the heavens to open up and for your soul to leave your body, in other words for it to be the best thing ever... as you will almost always be disappointed if you come at it with that approach... when i first got the HD600 that's what i was expecting and iwas disappointed because i built it up to unreasonable expectations. Try to just let it be and flow and go with it instead of letting the expectations get in the way. Just a thought. (that goes for anything really, headphones/amp, movie, etc)

I think you will be pleased with the choice. Good Luck.

Great! Thanks for the advice. I agree and I think that I am prone to expecting something out of this world when I try new equipment. So I will definitely keep that in mind for the future!
