Sennheiser HD 600 Impressions Thread - Page 195

I didn't say they weren't authorized.  But, they routinely sell refurbs and B stock.  Authorized, of course.

Where do you get that information?  I have contacted Brian, and he said the HD600 are new, directly from Sennheiser!

Why do you spread this information on the forum about refurbs and B stock from razordog.com, and tell people to spend $100 more and buy from Crutchfield?

I'm not saying they are passing off refurbs as new.  I am saying they sell both new and refurbs.  They list the refurbs and B stock as such.  There is no deception.

I was trying to make the guy see the worth in buying from Crutchfield.  Nothing more, nothing less.

Edit: This was a misunderstanding.  I thought the $100 coupon was for refurbs--and advertised as such.  My mistake.  Time to end this conversation.  We're on the same page now.  Apologies.

This track is awesome!  even listening from HD650 connected to laptop headphone jack directly.  That BASS!!!

That is just an absolutely amazing track, just listening over my not so good PC speakers and sound card it has incredible sound...how do they do that?!?

I find it kind of amusing when people rave about a headphone's powerful bass response, wide soundstage, 3D depth, etc. and then reveal that they listen to electronic music.

This track sounds great to me too on my $30 Koss headphones plugged straight into my PC (onboard sound).

I don't. ALL sounds are better reproduced using high quality gear vs the not so good sort and are easier for the ears and the brain to read, and hopefully enjoy as well. Of course the magnitude of the enhancement can vary much, but there is always an enhancement!  :-)

He seems to naively believe that electronic music can't possibly be recorded well or have good sound quality.

I think Deadmau 5 has some nicely mastered recordings.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
My point is that, with music such as above, almost any headphone rig will sound good.

I never said anything about it being recorded well or badly, just that it isnt ideal music for judging a headphones signature/quality.

For example, when I listen to jazz with prominent standing bass line, I have some basis for how it is supposed to sound so if its loose or bloated, it may be apparent. With electronica, if i hear deep resonant bass, is it the recording or the headphone making it that way?

I just cleaned my HD600 by removing the pads, and foam plate. There was a lot of hair and dust in there. I used a lint roller to clean the foam and pads. I then blew out anything else I could find.

You guys should really try to give them a once over every so often.
