agree, hd600 is loved by many people

... and still, nearly everyone here on Headfi finds them boring, like I find boring sounds of co-workers and machines in my office :)

Really?

There's a reason why the HD 580 and HD 600 have been around for so many years. It's one of the most enduring (and best selling) headphones ever made.

Huh? Just about all I read about them is praise. Maybe they need to find some non-boring music to listen to tongue_smile.gif

X2 Just about every HD580/600/650 that shows up in the FS section sells quickly.

Please refrain from making comments that are as broad-sweeping as they are incorrect, Moonwalker. It is not helpful to make these rash generalizations that have no factual basis. The HD600 is a well-loved pair of headphones that has one of the best/longest track records here. They are also not best described as anywhere near "boring".  Thanks!

Has anyone tried the HD600 with NwAvGuy's new O2 amplifier? If any, how does the sound differ coming from a different amp?

I use mine with the O2, but the only other amp comparison I have right now is the HUD-MX1 (and E7, but that comparison doesn't really need to be made).

I would be curious as to how the o2 compares with the audinst's amp section with the hd600

It's pretty much an improvement all-around.  Better extension both ways, along with improved detail, separation and a slightly larger soundstage.  This is all using using the Audinst's DAC of course.

Great! Thanks for that. I think I should try one out now whenever I can.

It's definitely a solid amp choice.

Agreed - it is!
