I also like the bass boost on the amp with its clean deep sound and the SF switch that gives the soundstage a little bit more air to it. I am looking forward to the Vali when I get it, I just hope the microphonics aren't as bad as the first few batches were.

I've got a Vali, bought it for a giggle because the price was so reasonable I wasn't going to lose my shirt over it. The ringing/microphonics are not so bad at all. The early models had a problem because the tubes have springy wires which are soldered directly to the PCB and the tube is held in place with a sticky soft tape that serves to absorb vibrations. The tension in the springy wires would reduce the effectiveness or the tension would cause the tubes to eventually get loose. They learned to reduce the tension by prebending the leads from the tube. Now the ringing is not that loud and subsides quickly. It works rather well with the HD600's.

Just talked with a chap on eBay, selling his X-CAN V3 with X-PSU... Said he honestly didn't hear much improvement compared to wallwart on his HD600..

You are correct, it is the V2 X-PSU that is an upgrade - the V3 just adds the ability to power multiple X-Units and get rid of the wallwart. The V2 PSU is not compatible with your V3 unit.

Yeah, you need to get the HD800 to hear the difference !!

:D

(I'm joking, congrats on the 600s = my favorite cans!)

Anyone here tried the Oyaide HPC-62HDX? I was searching for a nice looking short cable and I saw a reeeeeally cheap 1.3m version of the Oyaide on a local forum.

It's a really well made cable at a reasonable price, but that is a short 1/4 cable.

The 35HDX is the mini...

Just ordered an earpad replacement for my HD600 from Sennheiser... Guess it's time after decade of sweaty listening. :)

Just opened up my new HD600s, plugged them into the Mini-i Pro for the first time, and I instantly feel like such an idiot.

I feel like such an idiot for being a member of this site for this long, and not owning these earlier.

Welcome to the club W/L

They are definitely something special. I bought, resold then rebought again.  Don't think they'll leave my modest collection again this time ;)

haha - you and I both, we buy and sell many headphones.

But these.. I think these are mine to stay. They are a perfect companion for the LCD 2.2. Alpha and omega, yin and yang.

Have yet to buy my 3rd hd600 too....but chances are remote,
The ying force is too strong at my end.

Bah. Lovey-dovey feelings. Go away, damnit, I want an un-biased opinion.

I'm going to go and watch the Godfather with my new cans. Laters!

Will they be sitting on the couch with you?

Don't you like the quality of treble? It's perfectly there but not annoying in any way. Mids are spot on. The bass isn't overwhelming but it's there alright, I tend to EQ up the below 100hz bass.
