I don't use the stock - never have.  Current tubes in my sig (6H30PI golds and JAN5654Ws).  Occasionally I swap the 5654's for Mullard M8100s.

I really like the combo - remains detailed, but with some additional warmth/euphonics.

Needs a dedicated amp.  Probably going to go with a Schiit Asgard.

No it doesn't, and that would be a terrible choice. 

The Asgard and the HD600 sing together.  It's a great combo.

I have an Asgard and a Lyr.  Though I prefer it from the Lyr, it does very nice from the Asgard.

Conflicting opinions on the Asgard?

On another note, why did I have to develop a bout of tinnitus right after receiving my 600 several weeks ago? 

Are you listening to volumes that are too loud?

Absolutely not loud.  I'm 47 and have learned how to protect my ears over the years.  Not sure if it has been caused by some high stress over the last month or so.  Our local medical centre tells me that they have seen a high number of cases of tinnitus in about the same time frame as mine.  Wondering if it may be part of something viral or such.

If you're under stress, that is major cause of tinnitus.  Do you clench or grind your teeth at night?  Is your jaw muscle sore when you wake up?
 

Jaw is not sore but stiff.  I'm sure I have been doing some clenching.  I'm trying to do what I can to lessen my stress, ie exercise, but we have just gone through an ugly cold snap and I haven't got outside as much.  I also cut back on caffeine, but not sure if that is just making me nuttier. 

I'm a clencher as well.  Went to the pharmacy and bought a rubber mouth night guard.  It helps.  My tinnitus has decreased some, and my teeth will last longer as well.
 

I'm may look into that.  I normally can blow off some steam by getting out more for exercise.  -35 c with wind chill for a couple weeks is taking its toll.  Go away ear ringing!!!

anyone looking for a pair of hd600..let me know i am selling mine..$300 including the original box.
