Balanced Desktop amps vs Balanced portable amps

Balanced portable amps are available at $325 and $229 [from ibasso]. Are there any comparable or better desktop balanced amps available in this price range? Little dot has one - http://www.littledot.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=822&sid=032d23784a516ca3f8820317bb2d3dd9 Are there any more in this price range, upto $400? Has anyone compared with pb2 or pb1?

This is something I am very interested as well. I know of the Canadian Einar Sound VC01i which at $600, more directly competes with the RSA SR71B or Protector.

They make the VC-01, non-I version, for 400$ as well.
