S:flo2+amp vs. J3?

How much better would s:flo2 sound with an amp than does the J3, given that I use low-sensitivity full-size headphones?

I have read quite a lot posts by s:flo2 owners complaining about its UI and battery life, but actually how bad is it?  Would the SQ discrepancy make up for all those frustration?  I'm using J3 currently and want to try s:flo2 with amp.  So I need to know if the SQ improvement is worth all the inconvenience.  Thanks!

Personally, as far as the batt life is concerned, the S:Flo isn't all that bad, depending on what you intend to use it for. If you'd use it more around the house and as a transportable rather than portable, it shouldn't be a problem. But for people who commute listening, or intend to take it on a long-haul train or plane ride, it's a bad idea. Still, you can always get an N2 or Fuze for when you really need the batt life, the n the S:Flo when you're listening leisurely and critically.

I'm waiting for the X3 though, which might serve that purpose, and depending on the batt life, I might or I might not sell my 5g iPod.

Thanks, ProtegeManic.  Going over to the mp4nation s:flo2 forum, the biggist problem I'm having with buying a s:flo2 is that the FW update seems a no-go on Windows7 64bit,which is what I'm using right now.  So I guesss I'll settle with my J3 for now and see how X3 rocks.

BTW, when is X3 due?

They said sometime in March, I think, shortly after the E11. I won't buy right away though, things like these have OS in them so I'll wait first if there are any bugs, and in case there are any, whether a FW upgrade is available and effective, or better yet, I might get a unit with that upgraded version in it already. Although chances are there shouldn't be because Fiio made it as simple as a CDPlayer at home, except it has a screen and browses through a memory stick for the media files.
